RWA stands for Real World Assets. Tokenizing them means recording, on a blockchain, a token that represents the value of and rights to that asset. The key question is: how to do it securely, transparently and within the rules? That is where the XRP Ledger (XRPL) stands out, because it builds tokenization and compliance tools into the protocol itself — without relying on external smart contracts.
From real asset to token: step by step
1. Backing and valuation. It all starts off-chain: the real asset — for example, an agro-industrial hemp harvest — is identified, valued and backed by custody, audit and legal title. A token only makes sense if there is real value behind it.
2. Token issuance. On the XRPL, the issuer creates a token representing that asset. Since 2025, the MPT (Multi-Purpose Token) standard allows RWAs to be issued natively, with metadata recorded on the network itself and a supply cap that can mirror the size of the asset — with a few lines of code and no smart-contract programming.
3. Built-in compliance. Unlike other networks, the XRPL brings regulatory compliance into the core of the protocol: authorization of who may hold the token, freeze and clawback (recovery) for legal cases, on-chain identity (DIDs and Credentials) and private, regulated environments (Permissioned Domains). This makes it possible to issue assets while meeting regulatory requirements, without improvised external workarounds.
4. Liquidity and transfer. The XRPL has a native decentralized exchange (DEX), with automated market makers (AMM) and 24/7 order books. Transfers settle in 3 to 5 seconds, for fractions of a cent — making the tokenized asset easy to move and audit.
On the XRPL, tokenizing is not about "gluing" a contract on top of the network: issuance, compliance and liquidity are part of the protocol itself. Less risk, less cost, more transparency.
Why this matters for TGG Wallet
TGG Wallet uses exactly this infrastructure to connect agro-industrial hemp — a real asset with a market and backing — to the $TGG token on the XRPL. The network provides the technical path: native issuance, protocol-level compliance and integrated liquidity. It is worth remembering that the technology enables tokenization but does not replace the legal framework: as we have explained, authorization as a virtual asset service provider (VASP) with the BCU is a goal of the project. Solid technology and legal grounding go hand in hand.
From field to token, without unnecessary intermediaries: the XRP Ledger gives TGG Wallet the technical foundation to turn real value into auditable digital assets.
